The African Cinematheque aims to safeguard the cinematographic heritage of Africa. It meets the expectations of filmmakers and the world of culture, concerned about safeguarding Africa&rsquo;s cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p>The Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que Africaine de Ouagadougou is a public institution of the State, placed under the supervision of FESPACO and affiliated to the International Film Federation (FIAF) since 1994.<\/p>\n<h3>Activities<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Collection, inventory and cataloging of films:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Forty copies of films constituted the first archives of the Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que. Today, it has a modern center for the conservation of works (a functional center since 1995), where more than a thousand works are processed and stored: documentaries, fiction, news, feature and short films representative of the cinematographies of all regions of Africa.<\/p>\n<h3>Goals<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The collection of African films and any work relating to Africa.<\/li>\n<li>The processing, conservation and enhancement of films collected through various consultations by researchers and film and audiovisual professionals.<\/li>\n<li>The inventory and cataloging of the cinematographic heritage of Africa.<\/li>\n<li>The development of filmographies of African countries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Presentation The Film Library of Ouagadougou was created in 1989 on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of FESPACO.
